The Charles Lea Center is a national leader in providing supported living solutions so men and women with disabilities can live more independently. Charles Lea Center staff is experienced at customizing supports and programs to fit the individual. We provide an array of support services designed around supporting people to achieve their unique goals and interests. With the combination of technology and Direct Support staff, Charles Lea Center provides the needed level of support and care, allowing the person to be more self-sufficient. We support and train our staff to understands the needs of men and women who are living alone for perhaps the first time in their lives.

As Program Manager your roles include overseer, coordinator, and innovative thinker. Through these roles, you will assist the amazing people and families served by The Charles Lea Center, by working and communicating in an open, helpful, and engaging tone, to support others to take steps on their journey to independence. Depending upon the individual's desires and needs, you will complete assessments, develop programs, and collaborate with team members to meet the unique outcomes of each person supported. Your Role:

Our Program Managers work under the general supervision of the Regional Director. Your skill set provides for the health, safety, accountability, supervision and training for people supported. In this role you will assist people supported in all aspects of Community living, enabling people supported to be as independent as possible.

Communication and Collaborations:

Communicate on a regular basis with persons served to evaluate supports received.

Facilitates all team meetings to ensure person supported and team members can celebrate successes, and ensure concerns are heard and addressed.

Collaborate with others to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.

Maintain a cooperative relationship with Executive management team, Regional Director, co-workers, subordinates, other provider organizations, people served and their families.

Collaborate with Regional Director and other NC managers to develop North Carolina program growth efforts and initiatives, while maintaining The Charles Lea Center vision and values.

Collaborate with Regional Director, Lead DSPs, and HR in the recruiting, selecting, training, motivating, coaching, mentoring and evaluation of employees as The Charles Lea Center expects.

Direct Support Staff Management:

Provide on the job training for new and existing employees in accordance with all regulations, standards, and The Charles Lea Center expectations.

Provide supervision to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their job and program expectations.

Ensure appropriate and adequate staffing levels are maintained to carry out the program activities.

Complete annual performance evaluations on assigned employees.

Ensure employees receive appropriate training in accordance with all regulations, standards, and The Charles Lea Center expectations.

Supervise Lead DSP through scheduled meetings and reviews of documentation.

Other Essential Roles:

Work a flexible schedule based on the needs of program, which may include providing direct supports if necessary.

Time may be split between remote work, office, home of people supported, or community based.

Provide on-call support to programs managed.

Ensure systems and structure are in place that assures all health and safety needs are adequately met and monitored.

Monitor shift documentation daily/weekly to ensure appropriate and timely documentation is being recorded as expected.

Maintain the program budgets within approved guidelines.

Maintain standards set forth by NCDHHS, Trillium or other LME/MCOs, and The Charles Lea Center.

Provide intervention and assistance for critical incidents and ensure all emergency situations are communicated to families/guardians/Regional Director. Ensure all incidents are reported and documented as outlined by policy.


Bachelor's degree & 5 years' human services experience

Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.

Background in Human services is a plus primarily in Residential setting

Good computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft Office.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule

Salary: 40K- 50K annually
